San Francisco Police Department Graduate Summer Internship Program

Temporary Exempt. This position is excluded by the Charter (Category 18) from the competitive civil service examination process and shall serve at the pleasure of the appointing officer.
Graduate Summer Interns will work full-time, 40 hours per week, in an assigned San Francisco Police Department unit. Each intern will work directly with an SFPD Mentor who will supervise them with both daily tasks and larger scale projects. Interns will also be given the opportunity to tour various SFPD locations, meet SFPD leadership, and participate in other events aimed at professional development. Participating units may include:
- Chief of Staff Office
- Community Engagement
- Forensics Division
- Fiscal Division
- IT Division
- Professional Standards and Principled Policing Division
- Staff Services Division
